Come and Be Fed!

Help our students get to Washington DC for our 7th Annual Summer Trip by enjoying an evening of music and food. Our Bend Youth Collective high school students will be serving up delicious eats in St. Helen’s Hall (the old Grace First Lutheran building) at Trinity Episcopal in downtown Bend.

Afterwards, we’ll move into the sanctuary for a time of music and story performed by our incredible students.

Our trip to Washington DC is an opportunity for our students to be part of
the change that we wish to see in the world. Urban Immersion Experiences
help us to step outside of our everyday comforts in Bend, hear the stories
of people we may not usually interact with, and walk away from the trip with
fresh eyes and hands- ready to see and be a part of God’s dream for the
world.

Holy Week is fast approaching beginning with Palm Sunday services on April 1st at 9 am and 11 am. Then please join us during Holy Week for a whole host of services and activities as we walk the journey of Easter together. Services on Thursday and Friday will be followed by three worship opportunities on Sunday morning. Our Youth will be serving breakfast as a fundraiser all morning. An Easter Egg hunt will take place between services. All are welcome!

We invite you to join us for a joint Ash Wednesday service with Grace First Lutheran Church and Trinity Episcopal Church on February 22 at 7 pm. The service will be at Trinity downtown. The address is 469 Northwest Wall Street.

Lenten Soup Suppers followed by the Holden Evening Prayer will begin the following week at Nativity. On February 29 and continuing until to April 4, a soup supper will be offered at 5:30pm follow by a 6:30pm service. The service is a quiet, reflective service with beautiful and easy to learn music. All are welcome!

We’re excited to welcome Pastor Craig Jorgensen to Nativity as our interim pastor. Below you’ll find a letter from our Council President Lisa Bailey that explains more.

Welcome Pastor Craig!

“Hello Nativity Family,

I wanted to let you know that your church council voted to accept the Oregon
Synod’s recommendation of Pastor Craig Jorgensen as our interim pastor.  He
will start work on Friday, January 13, 2012 and will be delivering the Word
and Sacrament starting Sunday, January 15, 2012.

Some of you may have met Craig, as he and his wife, Jo, have been members of
Nativity since March 2011.   The Executive council have had the opportunity
to meet with Craig several times over the last few weeks and we are excited
to have him join our ministry.

Pastor Craig is an Intentional Interim minister, which means that he has
been specifically trained in the ministry that is required for a church in
the interim period.  He brings to us years of experience in ministry and
pastoral counseling.

Please welcome Pastor Craig at services this Sunday.
