FAQ

Do I have to be a Christian to come to Nativity?

Nativity is a community of people who are in lots of different places in their faith journey. While we are certainly a Christian church, we don’t expect our members or guests to have Christ figured out. We only ask that you are respectful of everyone’s beliefs and open to questioning and discovering with us what it is to be a follower of Christ. At Nativity, you belong before you believe.

Is there a dress code?

Nope, come as you are!

Is Nativity an inclusive community?

Yes! It’s very important to us that whoever you are, you know you are welcome now, just as you are. And we won’t change our mind about you next week!

Is there stuff for kids?

There is so much for kids at Nativity! Bonnie Norris is our Director of Children’s Ministry and offers junior church during the 9 am service for kids ages 5 to 5th grade. There is a nursery for babies up to 5 years old. All kids are welcome in the service. And they don’t have to be quiet!

What about youth?

Youth are an important part of the congregation. Pastor Chris Kramer andĀ Dane BreslinĀ are our youth ministers and provide safe, engaging, and exciting programs for Middle School and High School students. Learn more about them on our Leadership page or friend them on Facebook!

Is there Communion?

We share in Communion every Sunday at both services. Since it is Christ’s table, and all are welcome before Christ, we practice open Communion. This means that there are no prerequisites for participating. Even if you’ve never been to church before, you are welcome at God’s table.

What is a Lutheran?

Nativity is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Lutherans are named for the reformer Martin Luther and are a denomination of the larger Christian church. To learn more about Lutherans, click here.

How do I become a member?
